Jamie Speers

Founder of Strideview Equestrian

EC Licensed + NCCP Certified Coach | Certified Equine Sport Therapist | Professional Rider

Industry Experience

Jamie Speers has over 20 years of experience in the horse industry, riding, training, teaching, competing, and treating horses. She has an extensive show record, having competed at top venues across North America in medals, derbies, and grand prixs. As a young rider under the tutelage of Heather Archer and Lizzie Gingras, she found much success in the competition ring in hunters, jumpers and equitation alike.

Jamie has also worked for several elite show jumping professionals, including Daniel Coyle, Gareth Graves, Heather Archer and Lizzie Gingras. Jamie's experience as an assistant rider and groom has exposed her to a variety of training and stable management methods. Through this broad experience in the horse industry, Jamie has developed her own program that balances wellness and performance with the horse & rider.

Formal
Education

Upon graduating from the University of Alberta in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts (Distinction), Jamie continued down the path of horses where she studied Equine Nutrition at the University of Guelph, focusing on the nutrition of the performance horse. She then completed an intensive hands-on program in Advanced Equine Sports Massage and Vertebral Realignment, where she graduated in 2018 as a Certified Advanced Equine Sports Therapist. In 2023, Jamie completed the National Coaching Certification Program, becoming an accredited Canadian Equestrian Coach in English Jumping. She also received her Licensed Coach Status with Equestrian Canada. Jamie maintains a commitment to higher education, and continues to broaden her knowledge as both a horsewoman and a businesswoman.

Personal
Horses

Jamie currently owns two personal horses that she is developing for sport: Corvette Z, a 2013 Zangersheide mare, and Chromatica, a 2018 Iberian Warmblood mare. She plans to compete in both hunters and jumpers with these mounts, and is excited to bring them up in the levels of competition.

"Jamie is a very experienced horsewoman and has been at it all her life. She’s great with kids and teens and even has post-secondary training in education, making her a great fit as a trainer. She is also an equine massage therapist, thus providing a complete training and care program. I highly recommend Strideview for any horse/rider pair wanting to improve!"
